Nepternship is connecting qualified students with a potential private equity summer analyst opportunity at a middle market private equity fund in New York for Summer 2027. A role would offer hands-on exposure to deal sourcing, financial modeling, and investment diligence across active live deal teams. Interns could work directly alongside associates, vice presidents, and principals and gain real-world experience in private equity that goes well beyond the classroom.
Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth industry research, comparable company analysis, and precedent transaction screens to support active buyout and investment mandates
- Draft investment memos, management presentations, and committee materials for review by senior investment professionals
- Assist with financial modeling, valuation analysis, and due diligence across live transactions
- Prepare materials for management meetings, deal committee reviews, and portfolio updates
- Collaborate with deal teams on transaction strategy and portfolio company communication
Qualifications
- Finance, Economics, or Accounting major (rising junior for Summer 2027)
- Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and financial modeling
- Familiarity with valuation methodologies (DCF, LBO, comparable companies)
- Exceptional writing and presentation skills
