Your last name is never shown to anyone. Your connections see your first name, last initial and photo, and if you would rather stay quiet, private mode in your settings hides your photo, school and graduation year and shows your first name only, before and after you match. Your connections get the same protection. Every offer is condensed to a role and a company before it appears anywhere, so your card reads "A VP at Goldman Sachs" and never their name or how you know them.
