A role would offer hands-on exposure to specialist department operations, sale catalogue production, and client-facing auction events across active fine art sales. Interns could work directly alongside specialists, cataloguers, and senior business managers and gain real-world experience in the international art market that goes well beyond the classroom.
Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth research on artists, makers, and market comparables to support active fine art sales
- Draft sale catalogue entries, condition reports, and correspondence for review by supervising specialists
- Assist with cataloguing, provenance verification, and consignment intake across client engagements
- Prepare materials for client previews, viewing rooms, and live auction sales
- Collaborate with specialist teams on sale strategy and client communication
Qualifications
- Art History, Classics, or Humanities major
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Familiarity with major artists, periods, and the international art market
- Exceptional writing ability
